Curtain To Close On
This Summer's Concerts On The Commons
This week's performance by the Sisters of the Silver Sage will bring
to a close another season of Norris's popular Friday evening concert series.
Friday's audience will be treated to the beautiful harmonies of these three sisters, the daughters
of famed fiddle player, Smoky White. Donna, Rhonda and Janet, grew up with the sounds of western swing and cowboy melodies
but only began singing together professionally in 1998. But with several recordings to their credit and personal appearances
before fans of western music all across the country, they have rapidly established themselves as one of the premier female
groups in the field of western swing.
This
summer series has featured ten concerts with a wide range of musical choices ranging from folk and western swing to the big
band and symphonic sounds of the Little Big Band and the Air National Guard's very popular Band of the Smoky Mountains.
The concerts were organized by the Norris
Community Development Board and presented with the financial support of Powell-Clinch Utility District.
